ANGEL: No Negro woman should have to anything, and so what? Do you even understand what I’m talking about? When I was sitting there at Tony’s this afternoon, I saw him looking like he could see right through my clothes, and I knew he had talked to Nick about me.

End: Then I stood up to pour myself another drink and saw myself in the mirror . . . and I thought what is this poor, crazy, colored woman laughing about? (A beat) When I turned around, there was Tony, waiting for his answer, so I gave it to him . . .
