Hi there! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. My name is Emma. Do you collect baseball cards too? Oh, I see... you're not really into that kind of thing. That's okay, most of my girlfriends don't really care about baseball.
But I sure do! I love baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. They're my favorite team. And I love collecting baseball cards. There's something really special about them, you know? Each card tells a story, and you can learn so much about a player just by looking at their card.
Speaking of which, I just found this Austin Riley rookie card in perfect condition! Can you believe it? It's so exciting when you find a card that you've been looking for, or when you find one that's really rare.
But you know what's even more exciting than finding a great card? Watching the Braves play. It's baseball season now, and the Braves are doing really well. They're tied with the Marlins for first place, and I'm so proud of them.
But it's also really hard for me right now, because my dad isn't here to watch the games with me. He's a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy, and he's been deployed for the past six months on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. I'm so proud of him for serving our country, but it's tough not having him here.
Especially during baseball season. My dad loves baseball too, and we used to watch the Braves games together all the time. Sometimes we'd even go outside and throw the ball around in the backyard. It was so much fun.
Last year, my dad even coached my Little League team. We weren't very good – we only won two games all season – but it was still so much fun. I loved having my dad there, helping us learn and cheering us on.
I really hope my dad will be home for the playoffs this year. I think he's the good luck the Braves need to make it to the World Series. And I really want to go to a game with him.
I know tickets to the World Series are going to be really expensive, but I'm not worried. I'm pretty sure I can sell this Austin Riley card for a lot of money. And even if I can't, it's okay. Because I know that my dad is going to come home soon, and we're going to watch the Braves together, just like we used to.
Oh, sorry, I have to go now. That's my mom calling me. It was nice meeting you!
