Description

Sometime in the dystopian future in a Gotham-like city, a water shortage leads to a government ban on private toilets. A greedy company sees opportunity and begins charging admission to take care of one of humanity's most basic needs -- until one man decides he's had enough and heroically rises against the system. "Urinetown the Musical" is a satirical tale of corruption, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. The show's tuneful and irreverent score gives a nod to musicals from Broadway to Brecht and Weill, and parodies musicals such as "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Les Misérables". The winner of multiple Tony Awards during its original Broadway run, "Urinetown" now comes to the Susan B. Katz Theater in Pembroke Pines. And fear not: You can use the facilities there free of charge.
