Artemisia celebrates the upcoming 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment with "The Suffrage Plays", an evening of three one-act comedies focused on the importance of voting rights for women. Unified by the vision of director Beth Wolf (Artistic Director, Midsommer Flight) and an ensemble of talented Chicago actors representing the diversity of our community, "The Suffrage Plays" includes Evelyn Glover’s "A Chat With Mrs Chicky" (a smart, hilarious confrontation between a charwoman and her upper class employer), "Miss Appleyard's Awakening" (a wealthy anti-suffrage activist’s life-changing realization about the importance of women’s suffrage) and George Bernard Shaw’s "Press Cuttings" (a satirical farce about men’s inability to stop women from demanding equality). Join Artemisia for this celebration of women's voting rights. Enjoy our hilarious and thought-provoking show that examines the importance of "one person -- one vote" and its impact on the 2020 presidential election.
