LAMONTE I envy you.

ALBERTO Yo, I thought of somethin’. You should be my son’s godfather.

LAMONTE Nigga, what?

ALBERTO I’m dead ass. You family, my nigga.

LAMONTE Aint one of your hunnit cousins supposed to do dat?

ALBERTO I loved Keisha too!

ALBERTO I’m not playin’ da blame game.

LAMONTE I am! Somebody’s gotta pay!

ALBERTO You wanna kill me? Would dat make you feel betta?

LAMONTE You don’t think I could do it?

ALBERTO I think you’re a punk.

(Lamonte points the gun at Alberto.)

LAMONTE Say it again.

ALBERTO I already did.

LAMONTE Say it.

ALBERTO “Don’t do this.” Boom! I’m dead. Then who’s next? “Baby, don’t this.” Boom! They dead. Next person. “Yo, Lamonte, you buggin’-“ Boom! Dead. “I had a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the da true meaning of it’s creed!” Boom! Dead. “We are today seeing a global rebellion of da oppressed against da oppressor, da exploited against da exploiter.” Boom! Dead. “You can jail a revolutionary but you can’t jail a revolution.” Boom! Dead. “The task is to transform society; only the people can do that – not heroes, not celebrities, not stars.” Boom! Dead. “Hope will never be silent.” “You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.” “When you are happy, you can forgive a great deal.” Boom! Boom! Boom! Dead. You tired yet?

LAMONTE Yeah.

ALBERTO Let’s go home.

(Lamonte lowers the gun.
