Context
Ann Deever has returned to her hometown and is staying with her former neighbors, the Kellers, at son Chris’ request. While Chris’ mother Kate believes that Ann is waiting for Larry, Chris’ elder brother (who has been missing at war for two years), Chris and Ann are confessing their feelings for each other. The subject of Larry is a delicate one, but Ann shows that she is ready to move on, even if no one else is.
