Context
It is evening, and George and Emily are doing their homework. Their bedroom windows face each other, and they are close enough to talk to each other. In the background, the sound of church choir practice floats through the air. George is realizing that he has a crush on Emily, and she is starting to feel something for him, too. In the original script, the actors are on ladders that represent their houses.
