Just after midnight on Christmas eve, Alexander Herzen is standing outside his home, lost in a memory of his deceased wife, Natalie. He’s suddenly visited by the imagined figure of his friend, political activist Michael Bakunin, who is at that moment in prison. Bakunin Still alive. Buried alive.
