Context
In the previous scene, The Baron Docteur decided to purchase The Venus from The Mother-Showman. He is fascinated by The Venus, and is falling in love with her. Here, he finally meets her (although she is still in a cage), ready to take The Venus home with him. The spellings, lack of punctuation, and repeated character names in the lines are hallmarks of Suzan-Lori Parks’ poetic style.
