Context
Sloane is the new lodger of Ed’s sister, Kath. Ed, who has heard about the new, young man in her house, arrives to talk sense into her. He has insisted that having Sloane in the house will ruin Kath’s reputation, despite her pleas to the contrary. Sending her away, he talks to Ed alone. Although Ed initially distrusts him, it is clear that Ed is charmed by and attracted to the handsome stranger.
