Context
The Bradley’s have just returned home from a tiring day at church. Mrs. Bradley is distressed about her son Charile’s honesty at church that day. Charlie does not understand why what he said was wrong, because he was honest and everyone else was thinking it. The church is also preparing for the big annual Christmas Pageant. Mr. Bradley is trying to weasel out of going this year, he wants to stay home and watch football. Beth knows Charlie is right and she is trying to defend her little brother.

Start: Charlie: I don’t care what everybody else said, that’s what they really thought. All that other stuff is okay but the main good thing about church is that the Herdmans aren’t there, ever.
