The Bridegroom has recently told his Mother that he is to be married to a young woman she doesn’t know. The Mother is very overprotective because her other son and her husband were murdered. She worries that her son will leave home and die as well. The Bridegroom tries to pacify his Mother and divert the conversation. They discuss the vineyards he has just acquired and his Bride to be.
