Context
There is a split stage. Guys on the right are at a bar & grill type of establishment. Girls on the left are in a living room of one of their homes. The dust-up in scene 5 is over and the group is trying to put things back to normal. The conversation between Rick and the guys is light, about typical guy-girl topics. Later in this scene, the guys and girls begin alternating lines while keeping two conversations going.

RICK
Well, he’s got springs for legs. (Gestures to the rest of the guys) The rest of us will just have to do the school thing to get a decent job.
JILL (Hands on head)
I swear, school is getting harder and harder.
KATIE
Are you on about that again? Why is it always school, school, school?
MIKE
Like school should be illegal. What good is it?
KAREN
It has its ups and downs. What bothers me is I don’t think it’s teaching me enough about life.
STEVE
Makes you wonder. I can’t imagine when I’m going to need Conversational Latin.
LINDA (Immediately)
You mean you don’t get that in Ancient Civilizations?
STEVE (Immediately)
Or Human Geography.
KAREN (Immediately)
Or Music Appreciation? (Can say this in a singing voice)
RICK (Immediately)
Or Introduction to Stagecraft Arts (shakes his head) Sheesh—
(He puts his hands to his mouth to form a megaphone and calls)
Exit stage right and fade to black!”
(Cast members (both sides) all strike different melodramatic poses. Then return to normal).
ALL (Boys and girls, in unison)
But you need the credits for college!
