Context
Ed and Dora are exes, primarily owing to Ed’s drug habits, debt, and lack of employment. Desperate for means to support himself, Ed has met up with Dora on the beach to try to win his way back into her life. He tells her how he recently got caught up in a drug deal involving two men that he works with at a casino. The characters speak in a unique, idiosyncratic way. Words in parentheses are not spoken out loud by the actor but indicate the underlying meaning and intention of the line.

Start: Ed: Okay. Okay. So. There’s this (guy). I’m in the (casino)---at the least, I promise you, this is a good story. Dora: Then (start telling it).
End: Dora: So now he’ll make you work it off, doing all his dirty work or whatever. Ed: I don’t…you think he set me up? But—no. No way. John—no, there’s gotta be holes in there. Dora: There’s no holes.
