Lilah, Celia, Bridget, Kristin, and Grace are down right. There is a motel desk down left. Trisha is sitting behind the desk in pink sponge rollers.
LILAH. We have the cash. Now we need a fake name to register under.
CELIA. How about Joan of Arc. She was a bad ass.
KRISTIN. Yeah. That's not suspicious at all. Just tell the desk clerk your middle name is OF.
LILAH. We need something normal like Jane Smith.
BRIDGET. They can see that a mile away. I'm going in.
GRACE./LILAH./KRISTIN./CELIA. No!
Lilah and Grace approach the desk. Grace clears her throat but Trisha doesn't move. Grace does it again. Trisha doesn't move. Trisha points to the RING BEL* sign. Grace rings bell.)
TRISHA. Can I help you?
LILAH. We'd like a room, please.(Trisha looks back and forth between Lilah and Grace assuming they are "together.")
TRISHA. You want the special?
GRACE. The special?
TRISHA. Two hours. Ten dollars. (Grace and Lilah look confused then Lilah understands.)
LILAH. Oh, heavens no.
TRISHA. Hey, I gotta ask. We don't discriminate against life partners or afternoon partners for that matter.
GRACE. We're not partners of any sort.
LILAH. (Under her breath.) Except partners in crime.
GRACE. We just need a room for two nights. (to Lilah) That should do it.
TRISHA. Name? (Grace panics. She stares wide eyed at Trisha.) Name?
GRACE. Uh...Joan.
TRISHA. Joan..
GRACE. O....Arc.
TRISHA. (Clueless, Trisha writes on motel register.) Joan...O....Arc
