The backstage of the Sycamore Trails theater. WYATT, TEDDY, MARIA, and ROXY are seated in a half-circle. DEWEY addresses them shortly before a scheduled table read.
DEWEY (Looks around.) Is everybody here? (Pause.) I’ll take that as a “yes.” (He faces out.) Hello, everyone. For those of you who don’t have me for US History, I’m Mr. Coleman. And I’ll be taking the reins of “Peter Pan”...
MARIA Hi, Mr. Coleman!
DEWEY Hello again, Maria... Now, I’ve reviewed the materials that Mr. Dalaba left behind, and have decided to take this show in a new direction.
There is some commotion from the room...
DEWEY (CONT'D) Or an old one; we’ll be performing J.M. Barrie’s original text!
