Context
Eddie has driven thousands of miles to a low-budget motel to find his former lover, May. He is adamant that they are meant to be together, but May refuses him, insisting that she wants nothing to do with him and that their relationship is a self-destructive cycle. Martin has arrived to take May on a date. Eddie immediately began challenging Martin with subtextual innuendos. With May out of the room, Eddie continues to toy with Martin. Eddie lies on the floor, claiming there is “less tension”

Start: Martin: She’s not mad or anything is she?
Eddie: You got me, buddy.
Martin: I didn’t mean to make her mad.
End: Eddie: Sure she’s okay. She’s always okay. She just likes to take her time. Just to torture you.
Martin: Well—we were supposed to go to the movies.
Eddie: She’ll be out. Don’t worry about it. She likes the movies.
