Context
Tilden came in with an armful of corn he claimed to have picked in the backyard, despite Dodge insisting that nothing has grown there since the Dust Bowl. He sits shucking the corn as Dodge lays on the couch sneaking drinks from a bottle hidden in the couch. Halie has just entered, completely absorbed in talking about her late son, Ansel. She snaps back to the present when she notices the corn husks all over the living room.
