START. Sheri: . . . So that’s six tuna, six peanut butter and jelly, six turkey and swiss, six just plain butter. Yeah sure, we could cut off the crusts. No, that’s not extra. (Off Ted, glaring at her) Okay, that’s like ten cents extra. You want a cookie? Yeah, you’re right, I know, I’m trying to do the same, but I just sometimes like something sweet at the end of a meal.

[... ... ...]

END. Sheri: (Looking out the front door) He’s talking to the cop -- they’re coming back --

Jamie: Thank you.

Sheri: They’re almost here.

Ted: (With love) It’s okay, Jamie. Go. (She stares at him, momentarily unable to move.) G&(#$t it. Run. (At last, Jamie scrambles out the back. Ted watches her go, full of longing. Sheri stands guard. The door swings open, revealing a glimpse of Gregory, entering.)
