Context
Agnetha, a criminal psychiatrist, is concluding her visit to England as a research fellow. Serial killer and pedophile, Ralph, has been her last case study and this is her final visit to interview him in his prison cell. Ralph has recently been visited by Nancy, the mother of one of the young girls her abducted, abused and killed. He admits to Agnetha that he has been struggling with a strange chest pain ever since Nancy’s visit. He believes it is cancer, despite the doctor’s all-clear.

START: Agnetha: Well, Ralph. This is my last visit. I wondered if you wanted to tell me anything more. And I came to say ‘Goodbye’.
Ralph: Can you turn that thing off? (tape) I’ve been wanting to tell you things I don’t want recorded, yeah?

END: Agnetha: I’m going to hug him goodbye. Sue me. (She gently puts her arms round Ralph and gives him a hug. Kisses him on the cheek.) Bye, Ralph.
