Context
Frank Chambers is a drifter hired by Nick Papadakis to work at his roadside diner and filling station. Frank is more interested in Nick’s wife Cora, and the two have started an affair under Nick’s nose. Cora tells Frank her story--how she ended up in California from Iowa and married Nick, even though she despises him. Cora begins to seduce Frank into helping her get rid of Nick.
