Context
Macbeth enters the stage alone, proclaiming that he refuses to commit suicide in the face of defeat. Instead, he faces up to Macduff, acknowledging that he killed Macduff's family and will kill him too if he stands in his way. However, Macduff refuses to back down and the two men square up to each other. As they fight, Macbeth warns Macduff that he hasn't got a chance of victory as,according to a prophesy, Macbeth cannot be killed by anyone "of woman born". He is astounded when Macduff reveals
