Overview
Synopsis
Performed on a nearly bare stage except a pair of antique chairs representing an antique shop and the antique dealer’s Manhattan apartment, the story concerns the relationship between a wealthy antique dealer and her newly arrived houseguest who also happens to be her nephew. The antique dealer is cynical, lonely and extremely talkative. Meanwhile, her nephew is blunt and taciturn. As the play progresses, the two characters clash though the antique dealer is secretly desperate to gain his affection.
