Overview
Synopsis
A powerful and unsettling drama about a confrontation between two people with a shared past. Una, now 27, unexpectedly arrives at the workplace of Ray, a 55-year-old man. Their intense discomfort around each other gradually reveals a traumatic history: fifteen years earlier, they had an illegal and damaging relationship when Una was a child. Ray served time in prison, and Una faced social isolation in the aftermath. Now, years later, they revisit the past—each seeking something different. Winner of the Olivier Award for Best Play, Blackbird is a haunting exploration of memory, guilt, and the long shadows cast by formative experiences.
