Overview

Synopsis

The Death Valley Play Collection contains three works by playwright Juan Ramirez, Jr., all set in the perfect metaphoric desert landscape of Death Valley. The collection features the one-act comedy Deserted or One Act of Kindness, the one-act drama Sailing Stones, and the mini-solo show Salt Flats.

Deserted, or One Act of Kindness
After her car breaks down on the side of the road, late to her engagement, Ema decides to walk, only to find Amila, a forgetful orange seller. When she asks for directions, she doesn’t get the answers she wants. Whether it’s good or bad directions, life’s got a way to put you exactly where you need to be.

Sailing Stones
At rock bottom, Jaime forces his god-fearing best friend Charlie out into the Death Valley Desert to finally prove once and for all if a god exists. Who will save them?

Salt Flats
Salty Luis embodies the angry people in his life who have left behind negative thoughts in his mind, in hopes of ridding them, to find his own voice, and yet when he’s finally able to speak for himself, what will he say?
