After a mediocre music-hall artiste (Belle Elmore) disappears, her husband “ the mild and charming Doctor Crippen “ becomes the prime suspect. He is eventually caught on board the S.S. Montrose off the coast of Canada with his lover and secretary, Ethel le Neve. Finally, Dr. Crippen is executed for his crime though questions remain about the true facts from the night of the murder.
