
Overview
Synopsis
The plot concerns Evelina, the daughter of a manufacturer of hoop skirts who is a feminist and feuds with her father on the eve of the American Civil War. Besides being a feminist, Evelina is an abolitionist while her suitor, Jefferson, is a slave owner. In the end, Jefferson frees his slave, joins the Union Army and he and Evelina live happily ever after.
