The Cher Show

Musical

Overview

Synopsis

Do you believe in life after love? Cher certainly does! The Cher Show tells the story of one of the most iconic singers of the twentieth century. The musical biopic tells not so much a rags to riches story, but rather a rollercoaster ride of poor to rich and back to poor again, coinciding with the highs and lows in her marriages and relationships. Three actresses play Cher as we follow her meteoric career from childhood to her early years in Los Angeles through to her huge successful 1998 departure single “Believe”. The years pass on stage as the hit songs flow, allowing the audience to keep track of the rapid chronological events in Cher’s life. It is a dazzling, glittery, and flamboyant affair, flanked by wigs, increasingly daring costumes, and the sounds of her biggest hits, including “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves”, “If I Could Turn Back Time”, “Strong Enough”, “I Got You Babe”, and of course, “Believe”.
