Overview

Synopsis

Playwright Kate Fodor took real life people, Hannah Arendt and Martin Heidegger, and used them for her play Hannah and Martin. Heidegger was a philosopher who supported Hitler; this decision eventually cost him dearly. Heidegger was married, but had an affair with Hannah Arendt who was Jewish. Heidegger eventually took a post with the Nazis. The play Hannah and Martin deals in part with their complex relationship. The plot is based on fact, but the story is fictionalized for dramatic purposes.
