Overview

Synopsis

Richard Dresser’s two-man comedy centers around a pair of mismatched Little League baseball coaches. Ultra-competitive and hyper-masculine Don wants to win at any cost. His new assistant, Michael, thinks it’s more important for the kids to have a good time and learn some life skills.

With both men having a son on the team, Don and Michael won’t have an easy time putting their philosophical differences aside and coaching their young team to victory. Rounding Third” looks at masculinity, competition, and parenting styles with a sitcom-esque tone. The play was adapted into a 2018 film titled Benched.
