Overview

Synopsis

Frost/Nixon is based on a series of real-life televised interviews led by English journalist and talk-show host, David Frost. He flies to the United States for the interview of his life with disgraced ex-president Richard Nixon. Nixon has resigned following Vietnam and the Watergate scandal and he is determined to redeem his public image. However, he has not reckoned on Frost, who has become a media laughing stock and is equally determined to get the scoop of his career by extracting an elusive apology from the former president. Structured as a prize fight between two ambitious men, Frost and Nixon dodge and weave in an attempt to upstage each other in front of the camera. Just as Nixon seems to have the upper hand, Frost pulls his ace card out of the bag and brings the former president to his knees. Peter Morgan’s carefully crafted Tony-nominated drama brilliantly encapsulates the political, media and cultural fever of the mid-seventies.
