Synopsis
The Container follows five asylum seekers as they are smuggled across Europe inside a shipping container, hoping to seek refuge in England. This harrowing look into the journey of refugees unfolds in real time, drawing audiences in with a sense of urgency and palpable tension. Originally performed in an actual shipping container, The Container can easily be performed in a variety of spaces, making it suitable for black box or small venues.
This play contains lines in Turkish, Somali, and Pashto. All lines in Pashto are phonetically transcribed to account for the use of Arabic characters.
