Overview

Synopsis

Now middle-aged and living in London, successful writer Charlie Tynan returns home to Dublin after the death of his adopted father, Da, to get to grips with their beguiling and maddening relationship. Through memories and flashbacks, Young Charlie relives his adolescence while present-day Charlie comes to terms with his own mortality and his relationship with Da. Filled with honesty, affection, and humor, Da is a semi-autobiographical Irish play that has quickly become a classic, winning the 1978 New York Drama Critics’ Award & Tony Award for Best Play.
