Overview
Synopsis
It’s 1969 and the Pazinski family is preparing their fifth annual memorial dinner in honor of their late patriarch. On a larger scale, the Apollo 11 astronauts are preparing to walk on the moon and the United States is entrenched in the Vietnam War. King O’ the Moon is the second in Tom Dudzick’s trilogy of semi-autobiographical plays. This installment finds the Pacinski’s still adjusting to the new spirit of the 1960s. Son Eddie is preparing to ship off to Vietnam and younger brother Rudy has snuck away from seminary school to join an anti-war protest. Meanwhile, mom Ellen may have found romance as daughter Annie grapples with her grim marriage. King O’ the Moon is a snapshot of an American family during the turbulent 1960s as religion, history, and politics collide.
