Overview
Synopsis
Not often does a play come along whose main character is a 200-pound chimpanzee, but Trevor is just that. The titular character is an 11-year-old washed-up show business chimp who now lives with his loving mother, Sandra, and creates chaos in the neighborhood. Sandra’s frightened neighbor Ashley and local sheriff Jim think he’d be better off in a sanctuary, but Sandra won’t have it. Trevor is an absurd comedy that feels much like a sitcom but also a poignant reflection on success, humanity, and understanding. The play was inspired by the real-life story of Travis, a former Hollywood chimpanzee.
