Synopsis

The Lost Boy floats seamlessly between reality and imagination, bringing the story of Peter Pan to life and delicately capturing the real-life tragedy that inspired it. At just 13 years old, Davey Barrie died after falling through a frozen pond. Devastated, Davey’s mother, Margaret, blamed her other son, James, permanently fracturing their relationship. More than 30 years later, James is a writer living in London. Still haunted by his brother’s death and his mother’s resentment, he has returned home to Scotland, where a surprising new friendship will inspire the birth of one of the most beloved stories in literature. A shorter version for competition use and an alternate version for a larger cast is available by contacting Playscripts.
