About Great Plains Theatre
The Great Plains Theatre was established in 1995 as a 501-C3 non-profit year-round Actors' Equity professional theatre. Through the years, GPT developed a flourishing education program for area youth and added a cinema, providing a needed service for the community of Abilene. As Abilene grows and evolves so too does Great Plains Theatre by adding diverse opportunities for entertainment. From comedians and magicians to chart topping musicians and Pulitzer winning Broadway hits, Great Plains Theatre has something for everyone.
