About Virginia National Ballet

We’re proud to have been voted “Best Dance Studio in Northern Virginia 2017” by Northern Virginia Magazine, and to be a leading dance organization in Northern Virginia. Artistic Director Rafik Hegab won the 2019 Seefeldt Award for “Outstanding Individual Artist”, and VNB is an Affiliate Arts Organization of the Hylton Performing Arts Center. VNB has been a finalist of the Seefeldt Awards for Outstanding Arts Organization in 2016, 2017, and 2018, a member of the Virginia Commission for the Arts Tour Directory since 2017, and a member of the Prince William Arts Council. Virginia National Ballet is supported in part by grants from NOVEC, The National Endowment for the Arts, The Virginia Commission for the Arts, and Prince William County.

Founded in 2013 by the husband and wife team of Rafik Hegab (Artistic Director) and Elysabeth Muscat Hegab (Managing Director), Virginia National Ballet has expanded each year since its inception. The school was based in Gainesville for 5 years and relocated to a beautiful new, 5400 square foot facility in Manassas with three large, bright studios and a music studio in April 2018. The nonprofit professional company has grown from 4 dancers to 14 professional dancers and has been recognized as an outstanding professional company in the DelMarVa region. VNB School offers classes for students of all ages and abilities. We have a great pre-ballet program for young children, an outstanding pre-professional program for aspiring professionals, adult classes, casual dance classes, and private voice and piano lessons.
