Chester Theatre Company is committed to presenting intelligent, contemporary, language-rich, thought-provoking plays produced by world class theatre professionals. We create a lasting effect on our audiences – bend minds, open hearts, and expand consciousness.
We are a teaching theatre. We invite our audiences to wrestle with the challenging questions of our time as presented in the plays we produce. We inspire young and old to choose engagement over judgment – to cultivate openness to new ideas. We encourage elementary, high school and college students, and life-long learners to take part in that journey.
We produce world and American premieres, adding to the theatrical canon. We pursue ongoing life for the plays we have produced, through touring engagements, publication and production by other companies.
