The Dublin Shakespeare Society (or ‘The Shakes’ as it is affectionately known) was founded in 1907 and is the oldest non-professional theatre company in Ireland. For many years located in ‘The Studio’ at 50 North Great Georges Street, the Dublin Shakespeare Society is now firmly based at The Teachers’ Club (Club na Muinteori), 36 Parnell Square, where we have presented most of our major productions in recent years.
