DeltaARTS, located in West Memphis, Arkansas, was established in 1972 as Crittenden Arts Council serving Crittenden County, Arkansas. The first office was based in a residential home and the operating budget was $34,000. In 2003 and 2005, Crittenden Arts Council became an affiliate of two national arts education programs: Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts and Lincoln Center Aesthetic Education respectively.
In 2009, due to the expansion in our service area the board voted to change the name to DeltaARTS. Today DeltaARTS provides arts education and imaginative learning experiences for over 15,000 students, teachers, families, and senior citizens through the following programs: Student Matinee Performance Series, Lincoln Center Educator Aesthetic Education Workshop, Artists Classroom Residencies, Wolf Trap Early Learning through the Arts, Crittenden Youth Theatre, Young Authors Symposium, Arts Focus Schools, Arts for Seniors, DeltaARTS Gallery and a Public Art Program.
