Summer Stock Stage is a 501(c)(3) non-profit summer theater program for performers ages 13-19 in the Indianapolis, Indiana area.

To enrich our community through theater by inspiring young people to learn, connect, and perform. We provide a professional, positive, and premier theater experience.
Summer Stock Stage, Inc. exists to provide theater experiences for teenage students in central Indiana. Students from throughout Central Indiana focus on vocal, dramatic, and dance performance, sharing their creative talents in a professionally managed, inspiring, disciplined and positive environment that builds confidence, promotes teamwork, reinforces listening and focus skills, and enhances self esteem.
Summer Stock Stage draws students, staff, and audience members from a variety of backgrounds. Every summer there are ten main stage performances reaching over 3,500 audience members. In addition to main stage productions, Summer Stock Stage touches the family and friends of students participating in Summer Stock Academy camps and workshops and draws many of these performers and families in as audience members.
For the youth traveling from the more rural areas to be involved in Summer Stock Stage, Indianapolis becomes a place for connections, friendships and involvement. For the audience member traveling from the more rural areas, Summer Stock Stage gives them a chance to visit Indianapolis for a few hours and to see quality opportunities for youth in their own community to be involved. Summer Stock Stage views this exposure as an important piece of its success in its effectiveness in cultural tourism, audience development, and visibility.
In 2017, we introduced a young professional component of Summer Stock Stage called Eclipse. Eclipse produces contemporary musicals in downtown locations featuring SSS alumni. Not only does Eclipse provide paid opportunities for emerging artists, it allows central Indiana audiences to continue to see the amazing talent that we have been developing for many years.
