Les Kurbas Lviv Academic Theater was created in 1988 by Volodymyr Kuchynsky and a group of young actors who, like the prominent Ukrainian director Les Kurbas and their colleagues in 1918, felt the need to “… go back to themselves,… say something new, therefore, and just because, create a theater. "
The critique calls this collective a unique theatrical phenomenon because it restored intellectual prestige to the Ukrainian scene, created its methodological school and combined multifaceted stage practice with the process of knowing the Person.
