About Green Hope High School Drama Department

Green Hope Theatre is both an elective and after school program that welcomes students of all experiences and backgrounds. We are a multicultural group dedicated to the highest levels of excellence in the craft of theatre. We offer elective courses in both theatre arts and technical theatre, with our most advanced levels earning honors credit. Green Hope Theatre produces on average three full-scale productions during the school year. Our fall play and winter musical are open auditions for the entire school; the advanced theatre arts classes exclusively perform the spring play. In addition to our productions, Green Hope Theatre offers extracurricular clubs & organizations such as our Drama Club, International Thespian Society, and Improv Team. In the past, we have competed in the Triangle Rising Stars Program, State Shakespeare Competitions, Improvisation Festivals, International Thespian Society Categories, and more. In the summer of 2019, the Green Hope Theatre company was selected to perform with the American High School Theatre Festival at the world renowned Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Green Hope was one of 35 high schools chosen to represent North America, and was the only school representing North Carolina.
