Refuge Theatre Project was founded out of the discovery that live theater, as an fine art, is slowly on the decline. According to a survey by the National Endowment for Arts, attendance of musicals has dropped 9% over the last 6 years, while attendance for plays has fallen 12%. This comes in a time when we must compete with technological solutions that allow our potential audience members instant gratification at little cost. RTP continously asks the question, "What can we do that will draw former theater goers back and develop new theater lovers?"
