Burntail Arts is a new, Twin Cities-based artist collective dedicated to producing socially-conscious art and theater that explores the collision of new media and live performance.
Anna Hopps is the playwright, producer, and founder of Burntail Arts. She's fascinated by stories that challenge artistic and social conventions, and loves performances that invest in the complicated, the unexpected, and the weird. Recently, she has assisted at a broad range of theatre companies, including 20% Theatre Company and the Guthrie Theater. Her work is supported by a B.A. in Theater from St. Olaf College, and extensive study on topics such as performance ethics and the application of feminist theory.
All shows are selected randomly, which allows experts and novices, playwrights and puppeteers, MN natives and out-of-staters to produce diverse, innovative work side by side.
