About Music Theater Works
In 1980, a new music theater company opened in Evanston, Illinois, on Chicago’s North Shore—Light Opera Works.
At its premiere production (H.M.S. Pinafore) the Pioneer Press proclaimed
“Light Opera Works has launched itself with flying colors—long may it sail!”
Today, 40 years and 133 productions later, Light Opera Works has been rechristened Music Theater Works. Same great shows, with a new name.
