When you study theatre, you’re doing far more than preparing for a stage performance. In fact, theatre prepares you for life, by fostering skills in creativity, communication, and collaboration that are applicable to a wide range of careers.
With multiple opportunities to perform, access to professional guest artists, proximity to Chicago’s thriving theatre scene, and the enthusiastic support of outstanding faculty, ECC’s theatre department offers a rich training ground for emerging artists. You can master basic acting and improvisational theatre skills, earn national certification in stage combat techniques, enjoy Performing Arts Club activities and productions, and participate in theatre trips to Chicago. Wherever your path leads, you’ll find yourself well-prepared to perform with confidence and poise.
Theatre course credits are accepted by most colleges and universities, and some courses satisfy fine arts requirements for associate and bachelor’s degrees.
