About Filament Theatre
Now in our tenth season, Filament’s work includes a play where the audience rides bicycles, a play in a restaurant with a custom five-course menu accompanying the story, zero-waste productions, plays adapted entirely from interviews of Chicago’s Northwest Side residents, a play with two actors playing 26 characters, a play with six actors playing 14 musical instruments, and six commissions by Chicago playwrights.
In addition to our full season of theatrical programming, we offer
camps & classes where young people write, design, and perform their own ensemble-based shows; neighborhood activities performances for young people with autism and other sensory sensitivities; school field trips at highly subsidized costs; partnerships with community groups and social service organizations to provide access for young people who might not otherwise experience the arts. rental space for non-profits and neighborhood organizations
