Supporting Excellence and the Spirit of Innovation Cheatham County Community Theater was founded in 2001 as a creative outlet for the arts in Cheatham County and surrounding areas. Cheatham County Community Theater’s vision is to create a theater of testimony, engaged in a dialog with the world around it, paying tribute to the enduring power of the human spirit and scope of the imagination.
The pinnacle of the Cheatham County Community Theater Series is the summer musical production. Since it’s inception Cheatham County Community Theater has dazzled audiences year after year with an amazing summer musical. Previous musicals that have graced the Cheatham County Community Theater stage include popular favorites such as “Into the Woods”, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Wizard of Oz” and others.
A budding performing arts theater, Cheatham County Community Theater offers audiences diverse theatrical programming ranging from children’s plays and family musicals to more adult oriented dramas.
Supporting Education, Access and Community Enrichment Cheatham County Community Theater’s work does not end with world-class performing arts performances. Cheatham County Community Theater plays a critical role in the education of our children, enhancing the lives of Cheatham County students each year. Cheatham County Community Theater’s school and community outreach programs continue to garner acclaim for originality, quality, and diversity.
Cheatham County Community Theater’s audience is truly a regional one with a majority of the cast, crew, and audience of our shows hailing from Cheatham County & Middle Tennessee. Cheatham County Community Theater demonstrates an unwavering commitment to servicing broad audiences, making the arts accessible to all people, and presenting an unparalleled variety of bold, stimulating, and provocative programs.
Programming Year after year Cheatham County Community Theater strives to bring its patrons original and inspiring programming. Programming is selected by a play reading committee that reads and selects plays to present to the Board of Directors for season approval.
